82riceballs Posted December 27, 2007 at 02:45 AM Report Posted December 27, 2007 at 02:45 AM While reading the instruction manual for my new electronic dictionary, I came across a few words I do not understand: 研發 本機是為了配合社會的進步和消費者的需求而經過不斷的研發及設計而成的高科技產品。 I'm guessing that it means something like 研究, but if it meant 研究, then why the 發? 援權 本機內置牛津大學出版社援權使用之牛津當代大辭典，詞組多達十二萬，解釋極為詳盡精確。 According to dict.cn 援權 means "credit extension". Unfortunately, I have no clue what that means... 更為，實為，勁量級 讓您瀏覽和輸入資料更為舒心方便。本機實為每一位人不可缺少的產品。亦因如此，本機特別配備以下勁量級功能 Why do some words like 更為，實為，大為，etc. have "wei2"? What do they mean? Are there any more 為 phrases that I should know? I'm wondering if 勁 were a typo for 盡. Thanks! Quote
