NewUser Posted December 31, 2007 at 02:28 AM Report Posted December 31, 2007 at 02:28 AM I've managed to find "french fries", "lemonade" and "cola" on the talking dictionary website, but an entire McMenu in pinyin or Hanzi would be spiffy. Google yielded nothing and McD's China website doesn't work for me in Opera or IE. BTW if anyone is wondering what I'm doing eating McJunk in China, let's just say it causes my digestive system less problems than normal restaurants in Shanghai Quote
liuzhou Posted December 31, 2007 at 03:51 AM Report Posted December 31, 2007 at 03:51 AM Don't know why I am encouraging you, but it sounds like you need to install Adobe Flash Player. Then the MacD site will run OK in Opera or IE. Quote
imron Posted December 31, 2007 at 04:07 AM Report Posted December 31, 2007 at 04:07 AM Google is amazing Here is the top result for 麦当劳菜单. As a bonus, that link also includes the phone numbers and locations of a bunch of shanghai stores. English translations are left as an exercise for the reader. Quote

skylee Posted December 31, 2007 at 06:03 AM Report Posted December 31, 2007 at 06:03 AM What I want to know is how did they translate BigMac into 巨无霸? I know 巨 can mean big, but what does 无霸 mean? Good question. 巨毋霸 (or 巨無霸) is a term that describes giants and has existed for centuries. Take a look at this explanation - 本指王莽時的巨人。 I also like the way this webpage says "英文big mac".
