ai_ya Posted January 9, 2008 at 08:55 AM Report Posted January 9, 2008 at 08:55 AM Must the JW202 form be issued by the school, or are you allowed to print a copy off yourself and give it to the school to fill in? Also who must stamp the seal? Foreign affairs office? Thanks Quote
Madot Posted January 10, 2008 at 02:59 AM Report Posted January 10, 2008 at 02:59 AM To the best of my knowledge it comes ONLY from the school and it is this original which you must submit when registering to study. You must make a photocopy of what the school sends you and then submit that for your visa. I found this out last year when reading the instructions VERY VERY carefully. Hope this helps. Mado Quote
roddy Posted January 10, 2008 at 03:15 AM Report Posted January 10, 2008 at 03:15 AM Nope - they're printed and numbered by the Ministry of Education. Quote
ai_ya Posted January 10, 2008 at 11:22 AM Author Report Posted January 10, 2008 at 11:22 AM Is any school able to obtain them if they go to the Minsitry of Education? Would it be able a lot of trouble for a school to get hold of one, because the school I may attend does not seem to have them?? Is there any way around this? Thanks Quote
adrianlondon Posted January 10, 2008 at 11:42 AM Report Posted January 10, 2008 at 11:42 AM The school needs to provide the form. If they won't, then there's nothing you can do. Apply to another school and tell them you're doing this. That might make them go and get one for you. Quote
ai_ya Posted January 10, 2008 at 11:44 AM Author Report Posted January 10, 2008 at 11:44 AM What I meant was, how much hassle is it for the school to actually get me one? Does it involve lots of paperwork etc. which would put them off getting it for me? Quote
adrianlondon Posted January 10, 2008 at 12:16 PM Report Posted January 10, 2008 at 12:16 PM Probably. If they're not registered as an official school able to issue visas, then they probably won't do anything for you. If they're already registered then they would have probably given you the form already. However, if they just don't fancy getting you one, I doubt you explaining the procedure to them is going to change their minds! I've used lots of "probably"s but that's they way it is ;) Quote
ai_ya Posted January 10, 2008 at 12:23 PM Author Report Posted January 10, 2008 at 12:23 PM Oh, I see....is there any way to get round this then? If they can't issue the JW202 form, how can I come to China and what about the residence permit? Is there any way? Thanks again Quote
adrianlondon Posted January 10, 2008 at 04:15 PM Report Posted January 10, 2008 at 04:15 PM Apply to another school, or come on a tourist visa and try to sort it out once in China. Quote
roddy Posted January 11, 2008 at 12:28 AM Report Posted January 11, 2008 at 12:28 AM They may still be able to issue you an invitation letter for an F visa, which you could use for short term study, and extend. Which actual school are we talking about here? Quote
nanomiz Posted October 12, 2011 at 04:44 PM Report Posted October 12, 2011 at 04:44 PM Hi I have an admission notification from school of chemistry and chemical engineering, southeast university china for three months. I want to apply for F-visa , I want JW202 form (original copy) , How can I get it? from where? Please, I want your helps. Quote
jbradfor Posted October 12, 2011 at 09:04 PM Report Posted October 12, 2011 at 09:04 PM You need to get it from the school. AFAIK, no one else can provide it for you or help you get one. You say "for three months." -- do you mean that the program is only for three months, or did you mistype and mean it starts in three months? If the former, you might also be able to get an L visa. nanomiz Posted October 13, 2011 at 12:28 AM Report Posted October 13, 2011 at 12:28 AM Hi Dear friend I need only three months in china to complete research project at school of chemistry and chemical engineering. How can I apply for L-visa and what is requirements. In admission notification written that you should enter with f-visa, What did you mean AFAIK, and can you explain Quote
jbradfor Posted October 13, 2011 at 03:28 PM Report Posted October 13, 2011 at 03:28 PM If you can get the form, and can enter on an F-visa, that is probably your best bet. I just mentioned the L-visa as a back-up plan, in case you never get the form. To learn about the requirements, look at the website for the Chinese consulate in your country. AFAIK. Quote
Vinayaga Murthy G Posted November 7, 2011 at 07:25 AM Report Posted November 7, 2011 at 07:25 AM Hi friends, I am doing my studies in Japan. My experiment is scheduled for a period of 3 months in a University in China. I received the invitation from the Professor. But the embassy is asking about JW202 certificate. I already booked the ticket and 6 days more for the flight. and other things are already over. Also, the embassy said me they can provide me only one month of Visa under business trip. In such case, Is it possible to extend my visa for more months, after going to China and then producing my JW202 certificate from the university??. Please help me. and guide me in this. I have a very short time. Thank you, Vinay Quote
jbradfor Posted November 7, 2011 at 10:02 AM Report Posted November 7, 2011 at 10:02 AM Yes, it should be possible. Several people have reported entering on one visa type, and then getting it changed to a different visa type when they have the JW202 in hand. Whether this works for you may depend on your situation and how much the university will get involved. Your other option is to ask for a multiple-entry visa, which means you won't need to change visa types but every month you'll need to leave China and return (even the same day) to get another 30 days stay.
