badr Posted January 10, 2008 at 08:45 AM Report Posted January 10, 2008 at 08:45 AM Hey folks, I'm trying to find some new songs that I can include in the Bootcamp curriculum so that I can have a bit of variety for people who are coming back for the 3rd or 4rth time and have gone through all the songs I choose. I always do " yue liang dao.." " mei jiu jia ka fei" "jia xiang" and basically other nice songs with interesting lyrics, not tooo long and easy to sing. I've also done stuff like "mei gui hua" and "tian mi mi" in the past. any suggestions? Quote
Lu Posted January 10, 2008 at 11:57 AM Report Posted January 10, 2008 at 11:57 AM How about Duimian de nvhai? And I like I Believe in karaoke, or would that be too hard. Quote
imron Posted January 10, 2008 at 12:09 PM Report Posted January 10, 2008 at 12:09 PM How about Duimian de nvhai?I've been told by some Chinese, that this is like the "Yesterday once more" of Chinese songs i.e. Chinese are bemused at why almost every foreigner they know, knows/likes this song Quote
magores Posted January 10, 2008 at 01:51 PM Report Posted January 10, 2008 at 01:51 PM "Ashima" or "Wo bu ai ni" by XTX These are guaranteed to wake up the crowd Quote
badr Posted January 10, 2008 at 03:43 PM Author Report Posted January 10, 2008 at 03:43 PM cool, I never heard any of these! Baidu, here I come. is "I believe in karaoke" the name of a song??? thanks. Quote
roddy Posted January 11, 2008 at 12:24 AM Report Posted January 11, 2008 at 12:24 AM I'd completely forgotten about Duimian de nvhair. Massive in 1999(8?) and not a bad singalong song. I can see myself going on a retro music-downloading spree now and not getting any work done. I remember quite liking 爱了就爱了 by 陈琳, (edit: better version, .ra and also used to listen to a lot of 孙燕姿 though I can't think of any songs off the top of my head. There's 超快感 which I used to listen to constantly, but only because it was the only semi-decent song on the computers in the Internet cafe I frequented in Harbin, Winter of 2001-02. Anyway, I'm not so much recommending songs now as listing ones I remember. Quote
badr Posted January 11, 2008 at 04:27 AM Author Report Posted January 11, 2008 at 04:27 AM oh man... "dui mian de nvhai" is exactly what I've been looking for! really easy going, cheesy but not too much and somewhat fun! Any others along those lines? Roddy: I like your musical taste mate! 爱了就爱了 is a decent song.. I'm getting that for my personal use however.. won't fit the camp. Quote
gougou Posted January 11, 2008 at 04:33 AM Report Posted January 11, 2008 at 04:33 AM is "I believe in karaoke" the name of a song???Unless there's a song I didn't hear of, I think what she meant was that when going to karaoke, she likes "I believe". Quote
badr Posted January 11, 2008 at 04:46 AM Author Report Posted January 11, 2008 at 04:46 AM Thanks gougou.. I'm not sure I know that one though.. any links of name of artist? Quote
gougou Posted January 11, 2008 at 04:54 AM Report Posted January 11, 2008 at 04:54 AM There's several versions. Try 范逸臣's, for example. I'd also recommend 桃花朵朵开 by 阿牛. Fun song Quote
skylee Posted January 11, 2008 at 05:00 AM Report Posted January 11, 2008 at 05:00 AM The baidu links in #10 yield no search results. Not sure what is wrong. I've been unable to find any usable links to audio files for a while. Quote
gougou Posted January 11, 2008 at 05:46 AM Report Posted January 11, 2008 at 05:46 AM That's strange, they work here. How does it look for everybody else? Could it be that they are not accessible in HK? Quote
skylee Posted January 11, 2008 at 05:55 AM Report Posted January 11, 2008 at 05:55 AM It could be just HK. Searching songs on baidu has become futile. I now use other search engines for songs. Quote
wai ming Posted January 11, 2008 at 08:05 AM Report Posted January 11, 2008 at 08:05 AM If you're looking for songs like 對面的女孩, how about 浪花一朵朵? Or 小鎮姑娘? Quote
tsp_uk Posted January 11, 2008 at 10:40 PM Report Posted January 11, 2008 at 10:40 PM I was searching for "對面的女孩看過來" on Baidu but it showed no results? I typed in traditional as well as simplified . . .lol are Taiwanese songs banned or something? How about 童話 by 光亮? Or is that a bit overused these days? Quote
imron Posted January 12, 2008 at 12:59 AM Report Posted January 12, 2008 at 12:59 AM A search for 对面的女孩 works fine here in Beijing, with many pages of results. Quote
gougou Posted January 12, 2008 at 02:10 AM Report Posted January 12, 2008 at 02:10 AM It seems baidu really is only accessible from certain regions. Where are you based, tsp_uk? BTW, no problems using your search string either - it gets converted to simplified automatically. Quote
roddy Posted January 12, 2008 at 07:28 AM Report Posted January 12, 2008 at 07:28 AM There used to be a longer reply, until Baidu crashed my browser. I used to listen to Jiang XIn's stuff quite a lot, and it might fit the bill as something that isn't too poppy, but doesn't stray into 'can't make out the lyrics' territory. Try Pandora.Greek mythology and a chorus you can sing along to. I also used to love 赤裸裸, and i just listened to it again. Still do. Quote
Lu Posted January 12, 2008 at 09:15 AM Report Posted January 12, 2008 at 09:15 AM I BelieveThere's several versions. Try 范逸臣's' date=' for example.[/quote']Yeah, that's the one I mean. And 童話 is good too, sure it's overused but foreigners won't know that (or care), and it's really good for singing along. And I had trouble with Baidu as well when I searched for a song by Zhao Yonghua some time ago, nothing turned up. Strange. Quote
