floatingmoon Posted January 11, 2008 at 01:28 PM Report Share Posted January 11, 2008 at 01:28 PM Is there any online tools that can translate between "Traditional" and "Simplified" Chinese characters? (and vice versa) Something that can simplified at least a paragraph. Thank you in advance.

muyongshi Posted January 11, 2008 at 01:41 PM Report Share Posted January 11, 2008 at 01:41 PM I don't want to be rude, but please try searching! There are many tools and if I wasn't impatient and in a rush I would do the search for you.
skylee Posted January 11, 2008 at 01:42 PM Report Share Posted January 11, 2008 at 01:42 PM You could try these (note that from simp to traditional the output could be wrong as sometimes a simplified character stands for multiple traditional characters, e.g. 发) - Traditional to simplified -> http://www.chinese-tools.com/tools/converter-tradsimp.html Simplified to traditional -> http://www.chinese-tools.com/tools/converter-simptrad.html Two-way -> http://www.khngai.com/chinese/tools/convert.php
floatingmoon Posted January 11, 2008 at 02:04 PM Author Report Share Posted January 11, 2008 at 02:04 PM wow, thank you guys. And sorry, I forgot to search. skylee: From your experience, which one (the 3 that you listed above) is the most accurate? or best to use? (I am not going to choose any installing ones)
muyongshi Posted January 11, 2008 at 02:23 PM Report Share Posted January 11, 2008 at 02:23 PM I'll be nicer (sorry was in a tired/grumpy mood). They are all about the same in terms of accuracy because there is no way other than by a lot of programming and intelligent input to really tell which one should be converted and which usage is unique only to the one. So you will get about as good luck with any one of them. I personally use the ones that are provided by chinese-tools
skylee Posted January 11, 2008 at 02:25 PM Report Share Posted January 11, 2008 at 02:25 PM I don't use them. I don't need them.

OneEye Posted January 12, 2008 at 12:31 AM Report Share Posted January 12, 2008 at 12:31 AM There's a Firefox plug-in called Tong Wen Tang that will convert for you. You can also set it to auto convert every page you visit. Pretty nice if you can't read both. There's also a nice zoom feature that enlarges the text on any page. I don't think it's on the official FF page, though. Not sure why.
