karicif Posted January 11, 2008 at 07:29 PM Report Posted January 11, 2008 at 07:29 PM Hi!!! I'm researching about my ancestors and I found a picture of my great-grandfather with chinese writing in it. I have no knowledge of Chinese and I have no idea how to look for chinese characters in an online translator. Could you please help me? Could you please give any ideas how can I translate it? I've taken pictures of the picture, that's all I was allowed to do. I have published them in a blog, so in that way the characters can be clear. Thanks in advance for your help and ideas!!! skylee Posted January 13, 2008 at 11:02 AM Report Posted January 13, 2008 at 11:02 AM The first picture is not clear but I think it is the signature seal of the person who wrote it. I think the person's name is 劉楨三 (Liu Zhensan). The second picture - 勤儉 (the virtues "diligence" and "frugality") The third picture - 梁明生公遺像 (picture of the late Mr Liang Mingsheng) The 4th picture - died at half past eight in the morning on the 18th day of the ninth month of the 28th year of the Republic of China (30th October 1939) Quote
