best phrase meaning "pretend smile"

I recently read this article >> Chinese architect slams Olympic "pretend smile", and I'm pretty sure that what the architect said was translated, so I"m trying to figure out what he would have said in Chinese.

What's the best way to translate "pretend smile"? I'm pretty sure it's not 假笑, but some chengyu. The closest one I can think of is 金玉其外,敗絮其中 (which I picked up by luck) ... Can anyone be so kind as to enlighten me, please?

Thanks!

I don't know whether this is the right phrase, but I like

笑里藏刀 【xiàolǐcángdāo】 hide a dagger with a smile-with murderous intent behind

one's smiles.
