chinese antiquarian books?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know of dealers in Chinese antiquarian books? China has a very long history of printing, so I would think there must be a market, but I'm not sure where to look...

Thanks!

In English, "antiquarian books" are books which are themselves antiques, not books about antiquities.

In Beijing, the various branches of the Cathay Book Store 中国书店 have plenty of ordinary used books as well as a small collection of antiquarian books.

The most interesting antiquarian books are usually reserved for auction and you'll find an online exhibition of some of the books held for auction at the bottom of this page -- just click on a book for more information.
