Help needed with understanding these phrases.

For those of us who don't have a very high level of Chinese ability, would someone mind helping me understand the following:

高风亮节，语重心长

大是大非 - "?? right vs. wrong"?

明是非 - "understand right vs. wrong"?

大是大非

An issue of important principle

明是非

Clear right and wrong

But if these phrases are extracts from a contract or other legal document:

best get a professional to confirm the meanings in context.
