liuzhou Posted February 20, 2008 at 02:59 AM Report Posted February 20, 2008 at 02:59 AM This is probably a bit of a long shot but if anyone knows what I'm talking about, I'll be eternally grateful. I'm trying to track down a book of short stories or one story in particular. I don't know who wrote it or what it is called! But it was in the same series as these: The story in question featured two men walking to meet a western business man. One of the men had had dealings with foreigners before and was rather superciliously lecturing his inexperienced companion on the ways of the foreigner and the differences between them and the Chinese. He gave an amusing list of opposites. Westerners put a lid (saucer) under their cup whereas the Chinese put the lid on top etc. Anyone recognise it? Quote
