matt_gold Posted February 22, 2008 at 05:39 AM Report Posted February 22, 2008 at 05:39 AM Does anyone know of a free, downloadable english-pinyin-chinese dictionary? Just to be even more picky, does anybody know of one that uses traditional characters? (I live in Taiwan) and here's the kicker one that works on.....VISTA......(cause nothing else does) I don't want anything fancy, so I'm assuming there must be a free one. I already speak mandarin at a mid level, so I don't want tools or grammar or even translation, I just want a really fast way to look up characters, eng words, (or pinyin) I'm don't know. I really want something offline that i can download, cause all the online dictionaries are subject to my crappy internet connection. thanks!! Quote
Tommi Posted February 23, 2008 at 02:59 AM Report Posted February 23, 2008 at 02:59 AM Try Lingoes http://www.lingoes.net/ It has downloadable dictionaries from the website, is free and works without problems on Vista. Quote
dsrguru Posted February 23, 2008 at 03:06 AM Report Posted February 23, 2008 at 03:06 AM I use ZDT (Zhōngwén Development Tool). It has both simplified and traditional modes, and because it's written in J2SE 5.0, it should definitely run on Vista. Quote
