MandoMikey Posted March 8, 2008 at 06:25 PM Report Posted March 8, 2008 at 06:25 PM Hello... I've combed through the forum (and elsewhere on the web) looking for suggestions to a private Mandarin language school that can provide a small group/class for ONE WEEK only in Beijing in June. Seems there are plenty of options for 2 weeks or more. I had hoped to have at least that much time to study this coming summer, but my travels will not afford me that long of a stay in Beijing. Some other considerations... I'd prefer a central location (to Forbidden City) that can also arrange housing/homestay/hostel. I consider myself to be at an elementary level after having studied stateside for nearly 2 years. I'm aware that they are plenty of private tutors that can help me out, but I'm really wanting to be part of a group dynamic for the most part. Many thanks for your help, Mikey Quote
Scoobyqueen Posted March 9, 2008 at 11:44 AM Report Posted March 9, 2008 at 11:44 AM Many of the international language schools will offer individually tailored packages, also just for one week. I had a quote last year for around 1000 euros one week intensive. Just contact the school and list your requirements. Each new post in this forum is associated with another post with useful links; one of these offer home stays. Also home-stay options have been the subject of another thread just recently. You might find something useful in there. Quote
self-taught-mba Posted March 9, 2008 at 01:59 PM Report Posted March 9, 2008 at 01:59 PM Our school in Beijing can. But we are in Haidian. But we could arrange classes close to there. Sorry wouldn't be a group class. You'd be hard pressed to find that for such a short course. Quote
gato Posted March 9, 2008 at 02:38 PM Report Posted March 9, 2008 at 02:38 PM You can try contacting TLI in Beijing. http://www.tli.com.tw/tli/eng/en/4-2-1B.asp TLI Wangfujing Chinese Language Center in Beijing Quote
MandoMikey Posted March 17, 2008 at 02:55 PM Author Report Posted March 17, 2008 at 02:55 PM Thanks Scoobyqueen, self-taught-mba, and Gato: I'm pretty set on staying in a central location in Beijing, and I'm wanting to procure something before arrival. No reply from TLI after 2 attempts, so my search goes on... Kind regards, Mikey Quote
