朋诚 Posted May 25, 2004 at 01:22 AM Report Posted May 25, 2004 at 01:22 AM Let's be frank, number counts! It took the Chinese almost 50 years to figure it out what are the most commonly used characters and how many they are. In the late 80s and early 90s the Chinese State Commission for Language put the result to test. The test shows that the 3500 characters cover 99.48% usage of daily Chinese publication. I have this page to calculate the numbers may be useful to someone. http://www.dailychinese.com.au/3500.html Quote
