But emotionally, we do or did. Traditionally, educated people are supposed to have good hand writing in China, as we have a term : 字如其人(Like the person, like the writing) . We spend some time on practice of hand writing just to improve the appearence (to make them look nicer). But there are always some structure of the characters that seem to be difficult to write nicely to some people. After spending much more time on the characters than on others with little improvement, you begin to "hate" them. Quote
