dancingjinx Posted March 23, 2008 at 10:27 AM Report Share Posted March 23, 2008 at 10:27 AM Hi there, I have the mandarin character on my back for dance and posture. I want to get something above it like music, love, creation etc. I really want to know if I have a symbol above it will it change the meaning? Sorry for my ignorance but I dont want a dodgy tattoo. My ex's mother designed my last one as a native mandarin speaker. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Lauren:lol:
Strawberries513 Posted March 24, 2008 at 12:08 AM Report Share Posted March 24, 2008 at 12:08 AM Do you mean to combine a new character with the one you already have? If so, could you post a picture or something of the one you have?

monto Posted March 26, 2008 at 07:59 AM Report Share Posted March 26, 2008 at 07:59 AM 舞 I think it alone looks good enough. Any thing added might look like 画蛇添足(feet to a snake).
monto Posted March 26, 2008 at 01:26 PM Report Share Posted March 26, 2008 at 01:26 PM 舞 Basically means dance, dancing (n.), or to dance (v.) and derived from the basic meaning, it can also mean some acts or movements that related to, relavant to dancing. imron Posted March 27, 2008 at 01:08 AM Report Share Posted March 27, 2008 at 01:08 AM I can only see them when they attached. You can solve that problem by installing Chinese fonts on your computer. Also, what monto was saying was not that it would actually mean "feet on a snake", but rather this is a Chinese expression used to describe adding something extra where it is not necessary and therefore ruining it.
