Sgt_Strider Posted March 23, 2008 at 11:36 PM Report Share Posted March 23, 2008 at 11:36 PM I'm looking for a pinyin dictionary for the Symbian S.60 or Windows Mobile (smartphone) platform. I know Pleco makes a dictionary, but it's for Windows Mobile Professional (Pocket PC) and I don't have a phone with that OS. Are there any dictionaries for the OSs that I have mentioned? I would love to purchase one for the phones that I have now so I don't have to buy a brand new phone for the sake of an electronic Chinese dictionary. Thanks! mikelove Posted April 2, 2008 at 06:30 PM Report Share Posted April 2, 2008 at 06:30 PM We should have a version of Pleco for non-touchscreen Windows Mobile phones out by the end of the year; we've been waiting on one new license for that (for a data file, not a new dictionary), but that should hopefully be wrapped up this month and then we can start work on it as soon as 2.0 is out. Shadowdh Posted April 6, 2008 at 12:03 PM Report Share Posted April 6, 2008 at 12:03 PM Mike has a passing acquaintance with Pleco you could say... You could try this http://dictionarymid.gottfried-signs.ch/index.php?PHPSESSID=nr8s5jhm48h6ufro056lrpuq71& or this http://www.getjar.com/products/12357/MSDictOxfordBeginnersChineseDictionarySymbianS60 Or if you do a search you get a heap of returns... (I tried yahoo but google will do the same)...
ipsi() Posted April 7, 2008 at 10:17 PM Report Share Posted April 7, 2008 at 10:17 PM To be slightly more blunt: Mike's the founder and head of Pleco (as far as I'm aware). So in addition to coding, he also does all the PR stuff (unless there's more than one person using that account without having managed to give it away?).
