kane0 Posted March 25, 2008 at 12:04 AM Report Posted March 25, 2008 at 12:04 AM Within a couple of weeks, I am supposed to have an interview for Tsinghua's IMBA program. Sadly, I am unfamiliar with the "do's and don'ts" of chinese culture. As I have not had a chance to visit China, any tips and suggestions would be much appreciated. More precisely, is there anything I should know that might not necessarily be the same for a "Western" University? Thanks again all. Quote
Scoobyqueen Posted March 26, 2008 at 02:37 PM Report Posted March 26, 2008 at 02:37 PM You are brave. I would not have the guts to apply for a university programme in a country I had never visited. That would be a question from me though if I was interviewing you for a job in the west. Not that that is much help to you now of course. However if you do go on to complete the course, it could go down as one of the biggest challenges of your career. Quote
kane0 Posted March 26, 2008 at 04:20 PM Author Report Posted March 26, 2008 at 04:20 PM Hahaha. Thank you for the compliment and the veiled warning. Still, I'm not worried about what will be discussed nor my future with China; rather, my concern is merely that I communicate appropriately through proper cultural norms. Granted, I've had some advice from various sources on proper approaches. However, I assume anyone that has ever had an education or job related interview in China would be helpful. Therefore, any opinions, no matter how basic they may seem, would be much appreciated. Thank you again for the response. Quote
