mikelove Posted April 1, 2008 at 05:33 AM Report Posted April 1, 2008 at 05:33 AM Greetings all, Pleco Software is having a customer meetup in Beijing in two weeks (evening of the 14th, to be precise), and after merrily coasting along thinking I had all of the arrangements taken care of, I suddenly ran into a problem with our planned venue and am now left without anywhere to hold this thing. So can anyone suggest a friendly bar/lounge/other meeting place that could hold 30-40 people and is likely to be empty / willing-to-host-a-large-event on a Monday night at short notice? Preferably in Haidian or Sanlitun somewhere, though somewhere by one of the lakes would work too as long as it was big enough. Many many (many) thanks, Quote
roddy Posted April 1, 2008 at 05:41 AM Report Posted April 1, 2008 at 05:41 AM Haidian - this place has a cafe attached, Thinker's,which is generally pretty quiet and I think there's a room in the back you could maybe use. Not sure if it would be big enough, but the cafe itself would certainly be fine. Between Wudaokou and Beida's east gate, closer to Beida. Quote

imron Posted April 3, 2008 at 02:59 AM Report Posted April 3, 2008 at 02:59 AM I put my vote in for a Houhai location. I don't know what the break down of the other attendees is going to be like, but for those of us working closer to the city center, Wudaokou is a long way to go, especially after work. Quote
bokane Posted April 10, 2008 at 10:32 AM Report Posted April 10, 2008 at 10:32 AM Chiming in with imron -- though I don't know how many local Pleco users are based out of the Wudaokou area. Quote
