Vietnamese word: corruption?

So Anh NNT, what's tham nhũng 貪冗 in Vietnamese, is it corruption?

I've found this article on 24 May 04, the title was

Uỷ ban độc lập chống tham nhùng (ICAC): cơ quan chống tham nhũng hiệu quả của Dặc khu HK, Trung Quốc

Isn't it the same as " 貪污"?

tham nhũng 貪冗

tham ô 貪污

are synonyms in Vietnamese. The first one is just more used.

Such expressions as

tham quan ô lại 贪官污吏 are still used...

So if I say "tham quan" only, can people understand it as "貪官", or would they just think it as "參觀"?

He he; one is a verb, the other is a noun: the context will differentiate them. A sentence like tham quan đi tham quan is comprehensible (although it can be interpreted two ways, but that's playing on words)

But tham quan said "as is" by a tourist, would be more likely understood as "sightseeing".

Or do I have to make myself clearer by writing this instead:

Tôi chỉ có một diều mà không thích ở Việt Nam đó là tham quan du lịch.

You just have to say:

Tôi chỉ có một diều mà không thích ở Việt Nam đó là đi tham quan.

if you mean to go sightseeing.

Or

your solution : ...đó là tham quan du lịch is also perfectly clear.

Nowadays officials are no longer 官 but 干部
