leather_strap Posted April 2, 2008 at 06:50 PM Report Posted April 2, 2008 at 06:50 PM I have checked out http://ticket.9588.com but they tell me that there are no such flights. Does anybody know how I could find out some prices for this trip in mid-summer? If anyone has done it before and can give me an estimate. Quote
leather_strap Posted April 2, 2008 at 09:06 PM Author Report Posted April 2, 2008 at 09:06 PM After searching a bit more, I can't figure out how to from any of Taiwan's international airports to anywhere in the Mainland. WTF? I wish there was simply a ferry service across the straight. There is a farry that runs from Shandong to Korea and it's an even longer trip. Quote
Yang Rui Posted April 3, 2008 at 12:15 AM Report Posted April 3, 2008 at 12:15 AM Direct flights between Taiwan and mainland China are a sensitive issue because of the longstanding political tensions between the Taiwanese and mainland authorities. There have been direct flights for limited periods in the past, but i don't think there are any now. You will probably have to fly first to Hong Kong and get a connecting flight to your mainland destination. Quote
roddy Posted April 3, 2008 at 12:18 AM Report Posted April 3, 2008 at 12:18 AM Are the flights even available to foreigners when they do run? I thought they were usually specifically for the Taiwanese to get back for Spring Festival? Quote
