flameproof Posted April 14, 2008 at 02:01 AM Report Share Posted April 14, 2008 at 02:01 AM Just a little trick I found out, it's really handy for online chatting. The web browser version of MSN also runs on Firefox. Here is the link: http://webmessenger.msn.com So far that's good news, but it gets even better: If you have ChinesePera-Kun installed in Firefox you can use it while chatting in Chinese and do a pop-up translation! of characters you don't know! Really cool! I just checked it on Xp. Haven't checked yet if it also works on Linux and Macs.

ABCinChina Posted April 15, 2008 at 02:12 AM Report Share Posted April 15, 2008 at 02:12 AM This is great. I think that Chinese Pera-kun is the best pop-up translator out there, but sadly it only works in Firefox.
Prodigal Son Posted April 17, 2008 at 06:54 PM Report Share Posted April 17, 2008 at 06:54 PM cool tip, although it'd be more useful if I actually used MSN messenger I think that Chinese Pera-kun is the best pop-up translator out there, but sadly it only works in Firefox. what's to be sad about? firefox is the best browser available on basically every platform except the iphone. So I guess it's still copy and paste for me! XD
ABCinChina Posted April 20, 2008 at 01:50 PM Report Share Posted April 20, 2008 at 01:50 PM What I meant was that it was "sad" that ChinesePera-Kun only works "inside" of Firefox. But it doesn't work for instance on Chinese programs which have menus in Chinese, etc. Personally, I'm an avid user of Firefox myself and believe I will never go back to Internet Explorer.
