Scoobyqueen Posted April 17, 2008 at 09:02 AM Report Posted April 17, 2008 at 09:02 AM I am not sure how to use 一顿 and what it exactly means. The dictionary definition is not that helpful. Does it mean "real" - like " he gave the boy a real bullocking" and is it used to reinforce a negative meaning. Perhaps it is more colloquial. Quote
wowokala Posted April 17, 2008 at 09:56 AM Report Posted April 17, 2008 at 09:56 AM "一顿" is simply an unit. It can be used in many sitiations: 1. a meal, "一顿饭" "饱餐一顿" 2. Somebody has been beaten once, for example "打了一顿" etc. 3. Similar to the 2nd usage, usually not a possitive or good aspect. It can be used when you are blamed or something like that, for example "被训了一顿" etc. That's what all I know... Quote
