hello! my friend wants to study in china but worried because he had contracted pulmonary tuberculosis 7 years ago and has been healed already. he worries that he might not be issued a student visa because of this. any help?

My advice would be to get a doctor back home to examine him, and write an official note, in English, with some stamps and signatures, that no tuberculosis whatsoever was found (assuming that your friend is indeed completely recovered and can't pass the disease on to anyone else). When in China, show the note to the relevant officials.

I don't know if anything shows up on a lung photo if you're recovered from tbc, if not, maybe your friend can have a lung photo taken to proof he's tbc-free.

TB usually leaves a calcified area in the lung that is quite obvious in the photo. I think some paper as Lu mentioned may be helpful.
