Ghost problems

Where do the Chinese go for ghost problems, getting talismans and such things? I mean some serious talismans not simple 护身符 that they sell to tourists in temples. I think I also need some 生词 for these supernatural things because I don't know how the Chinese name these things.

Usually people will go to temples 廟, or 宫, or churches if they are Christians.

Related terms about ghost experience: 撞邪, 卡到陰, 沖煞, etc.

Related terms about getting rid of 'ghost': 祭改, 超渡, 驅邪, etc.

Daoist temples or Buddhist Temples? Is it normal to speak about these things with a monk at a temple?

To my knowledge, it is usually Daoist Temple. As for the second question, I don't know. I think it depends on what kind of monk you encounter with.:)

Been to several temples here, and contrary to what some people think they are not primarily interested in your money (although you're welcome to spend it). Temples I've been to provide free incense, plates to use for fruit and the like, small charms, fortune telling slips, special water, and blessings.

Rezaf, my knowledge is very limited, but if I were you I'd ask some local friends, or if you don't have local friends who believe in ghosts and charms, ask a monk directly. For ghosts, I'd go to a taoist temple, but for all I know buddhist might work too.

maybe it's different inside a temple. the ones out and about in town here seem like glorified beggars imo.

I heard from some friends that a 阴阳先生 or a 二贼 might be able to help me. Who are these people?

阴阳先生refers to one that can predict the future/ communicate with ghosts.

阴阳 is a concept from 周易, a philisophy classic whose original use is to practice divination.
