roddy Posted May 31, 2004 at 03:36 PM Report Posted May 31, 2004 at 03:36 PM This is a rare form of Chinese calligraphy called 商书 - used by Western shops to increase the value of cushions, T-shirts, mugs, etc. It's quite simple 1) Get Chinese dictionary 2) Choose any character 3) Copy, badly. zh-laoshi Posted June 1, 2004 at 01:20 PM Report Posted June 1, 2004 at 01:20 PM To me they look like the fake Chinese that are placed in movies/comic strips/cartoons. Just something to make it look Chinese and cool. With the sudden popularity of Chinese characters, some retailers think you can slap something on that looks like it and sells better. Quote
babyjane Posted June 1, 2004 at 01:47 PM Author Report Posted June 1, 2004 at 01:47 PM Thank you one and all. Can anyone now tell me the best places to go to find genuine chinese? I would like to paint some myself for wall hangings. Thanks Luv Jane Quote
高可文 Posted June 2, 2004 at 02:46 PM Report Posted June 2, 2004 at 02:46 PM There are many websites about chinese calligraphy, with some examples you might want to look at. But then you have the actual calligraphy. It's hard! I'm horrible at it, the best I can do is scribble randomly and call it 草書. Quote
