Quest Posted June 1, 2004 at 02:47 AM Report Posted June 1, 2004 at 02:47 AM http://hua.umf.maine.edu/Chinese/search.html very good site, imo. They have different voices for both characters and words. Quote
roddy Posted June 1, 2004 at 09:32 AM Report Posted June 1, 2004 at 09:32 AM That is an excellent site, and almost exactly what I had planned for my HSK database. Not sure if I should be sad someone beat me to it, or happy I don't have to to do all the hard work. Recommended. Roddy PS Going to move this to Textbooks and Resources - although you can listen, the sites much more useful than a simple pronunciation guide. Quote
geek_frappa Posted June 1, 2004 at 04:03 PM Report Posted June 1, 2004 at 04:03 PM ya, this is an old site, but still very very very good site. one of the first sites i used when i was learning how to speak chinese without an accent. you can download some databases and use the data for speech engines... http://hua.umf.maine.edu/China/database.html every part of this website is well planned and the use of color and white space to help students learn is an excellent, which makes sense because Marilyn Shea is in the department of psychology... Guest Yau Posted June 6, 2004 at 03:14 PM Report Posted June 6, 2004 at 03:14 PM Here's a very powerful website for cantonese pronounciation. I find it extremely useful, and almost use it every week to make sure my pronounciation is correct. However, you may need to learn the input of Chinese characters or cantonese Pinyin system to make it useful. Hope you like it too. http://www.arts.cuhk.edu.hk/Lexis/lexi-can/ Quote
