In need of advice on cost of drinks @ Lan Club(BJ)

Hello,

I've been requested by some friends to accompany them to this place called LAN club in Chaoyang, Beijing to kinda like 认识一下. And I was curious about the prices there. I've been told by others that apparently it is very expensive but no one knows how much.. just that it is very much. Same in the internet, I cannot find answers about it.

Would any of u happen to know the price range for drinks? Just in a general note: just want to know how much I would spend if I go. Also, how about the restaurant? Is the food quite expensive too?

Thanks.

It depends.

Chaoyang district is famous place of "宰老外" (I can't translate this term well")

If you like alkohol, Beijing "二锅头" is the best thing, very cheap and quite pure.

377 per person? That's impressive.

We've had 8 people eat 20 dishes for 500 in Beijing, and it was one of the best meals I've ever had.

@Roddy: 377RMB per person... oops, not for me: I will tell my friends immediately. haha

so Ill eat outside beforehand.. I would still like to know about the drinks though as im guessing that might also be like a rock in the shoe..

@Renzhe: 500 in total or per person?! omg... 不瞒你们说, 我不会对食物花了那么多钱!

500 total, of course. I was invited as a guest to a family dinner.

One of the 18 dishes was 北京烤鸭, which cost 60 RMB on its own. We had a separate room with extra service, in a really good restaurant.

Before I forget, there was a more expensive one, about 800 RMB total (if I'm not mistaken), the host was showing off. About 8 people for lunch in a Shanghai-style restaurant with 5 diamond rating (!!!!!!) which is as good as you can get.

377 per person is ridiculous. I'd refuse to eat there as a matter of principle.

The drink prices at Lan Club are on par with the 5-star hotel bars such as Centro (Kerry Center) and Red Moon (Grand Hyatt).

I remember that their cocktail prices ranged from around 80 RMB and up. Regular mixed drinks were a bit cheaper, but not by too much - around 50-60 RMB.

So depending on how heavy of a social drinker you are, you could easily spend a few hundred RMB there. On the otherhand, it's pretty much guaranteed that you won't get served fake alcohol there. Also, the decor there is very unique - it's worth a visit just to see that.

I can't help you with the food costs as I've never eaten there, but the restaurant has a reputation of being very high end.

By the way, the bar/restaurant is located on the 4th floor - that's what "FF" stands for.
