Thanks for checking in folks - I know how easy it is for things to fall by the wayside (this site is littered with examples of things I haven't done anyway).

but life, oh life can get away (in the way) sometimes... sigh...

The same everywhere I think, that’s the way it is. I need to finish an estimated 200000-character article recently, so have to slow down my blog that was planned to start soon. Sigh, too.

But hey, I’m sure I will have one blog and then even a forum in the future when I have time, which would be interesting. Looking forward to them and exciting!

Elina, I'm also looking forward to seeing it when you find the time. Good luck with it!

Thanks for your nice words. The blog would be job-related things, in English. The forum would be more personalized, 80% in Chinese language, so work hard on your Chinese study to see it

I just posted a preliminary review of one of the books I got 文化中国. Thanks for the opportunity! I made a new thread in ... I forget where, but it was area that someone suggested the last time I checked in and asked where to post. Somewhere in the reading and studying? I hope it is helpful, and if there are any questions you have about it, I will try to answer them.

Hello, I know you said the books are gone, but I figured I'd write up an application for future availability.

I don't really have a preference of which book I would get, so long as it is at a beginner level. I am just beginning to learn Chinese.

I have about a 5-year history of writing for the tech/entertainment industry.

I have written at a few websites that are no longer online, such as G2X.com and VGPub.com. I was also a predominant writer at DigitalBackspin, which was a very popular tech website.

More recently, I have been writing more goofy, irreverent material for a site http://www.didntread.com

My name is "Bradon," and you can find my articles on that site via my name. Here are some examples of articles I have written for Didntread.com

http://www.didntread.com/tech/five-of-the-coolest-gadgets-and-toys-for-big-kids.html

http://www.didntread.com/music/accepting-that-john-lennon-was-a-douchebag-is-much-like-the-five-stages-of-death.html

http://www.didntread.com/tech/how-to-survive-the-digg-effect-on-a-shared-host.html

http://www.didntread.com/tech/best-freeware-you-might-not-know-about.html

http://www.didntread.com/tech/things-we-have-all-learned-from-spam-email.html

http://www.didntread.com/life/welcome-to-the-fake-apocalypse.html

Like I said, this is more of a humor site, so it isn't the best example. But, its all I have online at the moment.

Also, I am in USA. Thanks for the offer, and I look forward t hearing from you. :)

In Australia, this is illegal advertising - it is contrary to the Trade Practices Act - misrepresentation. Your comment please.

I am actually working on the review for the dictionary of chinese synonyms book. I have 3 books and am trying to do a comparative review. Hope to finish it within a week or so. Given my abysmal performance so far, however....

As to previous (post #1) comment about "fair practice", seems

this is llegal...
is a bit vague. What is the "this" being referred to? Would saying something "IS" xxx in this case fall under the slander laws for Australia?. I am not a lawyer :conf
