Our book says that in verbs like 走进去/来 去 and 来 are pronounced 轻声 , but what if there is another word in between, for example: 走进屋子里去/来?are they still 轻声?

Emphasis varies with accents... i am imagine (in my mind's eye, or mind's ear if you prefer) a southerner, like a shangainese or hangzhou-er saying 走进去 with a full tone on each character... but a northerner would emphasise the　进 ...

My advice would be that to get good at emphasis, which words are used lightly or softly in sentences, just find someone to copy. Just try to talk the way they talk, and repeat to yourself the things you've heard them say, and think about how they said it...
