I've been reading some peoms of the Song Dynasty. This one by 王安石 is right for the season -

:clap :clap

Take a look at this blog for a detailed explanation.

I like this poem by 梅堯臣 writing on his remembrance of his wife:

bhchao, the poem is very sad. have you noticed that the script used is incosistent - 發 should be 髮, 宁 should be 寧?

You are right. :) Thanks for catching that.

I think the poem captures the considerable respect that men during Song times expressed toward their wives and daughters.

文天祥 wrote a poem expressing his affection for his two daughters during his incarceration. I don't know the name of the poem though.

People talked about this poem on the radio today. A sad story. Mother of the poet forced him to divorce his wife (his cousin), whom he loved. He obeyed. And ten years later they met again, each having a new family. The poet then wrote this poem, which was quite unlike his usual style.
