I think the poem captures the considerable respect that men during Song times expressed toward their wives and daughters. 文天祥 wrote a poem expressing his affection for his two daughters during his incarceration. Mother of the poet forced him to divorce his wife (his cousin), whom he loved. He obeyed. And ten years later they met again, each having a new family. The poet then wrote this poem, which was quite unlike his usual style. 《釵頭鳳》 陸游 紅酥手 黃縢酒 滿城春色宮牆柳 東風惡 歡情薄 一懷愁緒 幾年離索 錯！錯！錯！ 春如舊 人空瘦 淚痕紅浥鮫綃透 桃花落 閒池閣 山盟雖在 錦書難托 莫！莫！莫！ Edited February 22, 2010 at 04:55 AM by skylee Quote
