marcusat Posted June 3, 2008 at 10:07 AM Report Posted June 3, 2008 at 10:07 AM Hi all I'm coming to Beijing on August 8th and will be staying for one year. I plan to find some temporary accomodation for myself and 3 friends for around 2 weeks to a month while i find a more permanent place to live, and was wondering if anybody had a place to rent or knew of good places to find these. I know the prices of accomodation have gone up because of the Olympics so any suggestion of how to spend a minimum would be appreciated! We dont mind squeezing in to beds an sleeping on sofas etc! thanks in advance Quote
magores Posted June 4, 2008 at 01:13 AM Report Posted June 4, 2008 at 01:13 AM You're coming to Beijing on the opening day of the Olympics and need a place to live? I'm sure you can find it, but jeez.... Sure not making it easy on yourself. Quote

marcusat Posted June 4, 2008 at 09:47 PM Author Report Posted June 4, 2008 at 09:47 PM Yeah it aint going to be easy, but i'm sure gonna try! Myself and a friend are going to be there for a year, but we don't want to commit to a year without seeing a place so the plan is to find something temporary albeit overpriced for the olympic month and during that time search for a permanent place. therefore, location is not important. there are 4 of us going to be there at that time and the plan is to just pile in somewhere, even if it is just a one bedroom place. if anyone had already found a place for august or knows any decent websites in English I'd really appreciate your advice. Also, i plan to find this palce on the internet so if anyone has any ideas on how to secure an apartment without just sending money to a complete stranger that would be great! Is there any service like paypal that would be safe... or would paypal work. i should look into that! thanks all! Looking forward to the olympics! Quote
BrandeX Posted June 5, 2008 at 02:51 AM Report Posted June 5, 2008 at 02:51 AM The way things are going now, you might have to rent a hotel for the duration, to qualify for a visa. (If there is any rooms available still) Quote
