laser2302 Posted June 6, 2008 at 05:14 AM Report Posted June 6, 2008 at 05:14 AM I was reading a Chinese news article and I came across this heading: 不法分子设敛财陷阱 短信中奖竟出“百万富翁” Can anyone please tell me what the above heading means. I know that it first says 不法分子设敛财陷阱 which means "someone setups a trap to get money illegally", however, I don't understand the next part 短信中奖竟出“百万富翁”? I know that 短信 means a note 中奖 means to win a price in a lottery but when put together like in the heading above, I'm unable to make any sense out of it. Quote

zhu551 Posted June 6, 2008 at 10:39 AM Report Posted June 6, 2008 at 10:39 AM "短信"means SMS(Short Message Service)。 短信中奖竟出“百万富翁”。It means:A shammer sends you a SMS message to tell that you have won 1 million in a lottery.Furthermore, he will provide you his contact and add that you can get the money in the condition that you give him some fees. The shammer sets the trap that you have won 1 million in a lottery by the SMS. So you should be caution when you receive such SMS in China.Donnt believe in it. Quote
