bobadji Posted June 8, 2008 at 06:55 PM Report Posted June 8, 2008 at 06:55 PM I've used online translate tools and found no good translation. Please will someone try to translate How Soon Is Now? and There is a Light that never goes out into Chinese for me? I have heard they may not make nice Chinese sentences Quote

bobadji Posted June 9, 2008 at 04:06 PM Author Report Posted June 9, 2008 at 04:06 PM they seem to come up with a not very accurate translation. For example there is a light that never goes out translates to 有从未关的光, which when I translate back into English comes up as 'Has light which never closes' how soon is now - 多快是现在 - Many is quickly the present However the translator may just translate back into English poorly? Lu Posted June 10, 2008 at 07:58 AM Report Posted June 10, 2008 at 07:58 AM However the translator may just translate back into English poorly? Both, of course.关 means 'to close', but Chinese don't turn off the light, they close the light. Online translation tools don't understand such subtleties. 有 means 'there is' but also 'to have'. 有从未关的光 sounds ok (but wait for a native speaker); the other one would maybe be 現在是多快. Doesn't sound very well in Chinese, but that shouldn't be a problem for a song title. Quote
