Quick question (how to write a specific phrase in Mandarin)

Hi there. I apologize if this in the wrong forum - I am new here but very keen to participate in these forums as I have just begun to learn Mandarin.

I was wondering if someone could tell me how to write "Simon is being pretentious" in Pinyin or in Chinese characters? (Both would be amazing)

Any help would be much appreciated.

西蒙很是自命不凡

pretentious=自命不凡 zi4ming4bu4fan2

很是means "quite" or "very". i put them here to make the sentence read smoothly

Someone else suggested to me that this might do 西门很虚为

.. but your translation appears to be much better.

I do not know if this translation ok:

西蒙本是个自命不凡之人。

Xī méng běn shì gè zì mìng bù fán zhī rén

or 西蒙天性自命不凡。

Xī méng tiān xìng zì mìng bù fán

because in this sentence has a "being" means 本质（běnzhì）、禀性（bǐngxìng）。

i have to say that.Simon is being doing something just mean he is pretend to do that now.

so in my opinion ,i'd like to translate it like this 西蒙装出自命不凡的样子。
