mxyplizk Posted June 18, 2008 at 03:51 PM Report Posted June 18, 2008 at 03:51 PM I used an online translator to translate welcome home into Chinese symbols and got 受欢迎的家 is this correct? if not, could someone supply me with the correct version? I've got a friend coming home from China and I need to make a banner. Thanks! Quote
renzhe Posted June 18, 2008 at 09:14 PM Report Posted June 18, 2008 at 09:14 PM That's not correct, it means something like "a home that's being welcomed". Or "A home for being welcomed", or something along those lines. A simple 欢迎 (welcome) would probably suffice. For a proper translation, wait for a native speaker. Quote
skylee Posted June 18, 2008 at 11:33 PM Report Posted June 18, 2008 at 11:33 PM Consider - 歡迎回家 or 歡迎回國 (welcome to your home country) or 歡迎回來 (welcome back) Quote
Lu Posted June 19, 2008 at 06:55 AM Report Posted June 19, 2008 at 06:55 AM My brother and his GF tried to write that when I got back from Taiwan last time, they came up with 迎家, they wrote the characters pretty well too. I loved it and felt very welcome. :-) Quote
