Laptop as scribble pad for hanzi and conversion programme

I am in the process of buying a new laptop and am going for a HP with swivel touch screen. I was hoping that I would be able to use the touch screen as a scribble pad for hanzi. However, it is too slow and not accurate enough. Also I dont know if any programmes are available for the laptop that could convert handwritten notes to printed hanzi. My pda is able to do this, but as far as I understood this was not currently possible with a laptop. Is this assumption correct?

Search my posts for Tablet PC. It is part of a downloadable language pack from Microsoft. Works well. Don't buy Acer Tablet PCs btw.:tong
