Does anyone know how popular this person currently is and how likely it is for her novels to be translated into English? I've seen some of her TV series (dubbed/subbed) and I'd like to compare them to the novels, but unfortunately I can't read in Chinese.

On a slightly different note, I'd appreciate it if someone could provide the pinyin for the titles of her TV series (rough English translations will also be helpful). Thanks!

She used to be popular in the 70s (Taiwan) and 80s (mainland China) but less so now. Her old world style romance is seen as overly sentimental and melodramatic by today's readers. But I still like her because I was grown up in the 80s...

I don't know anything about English translation. I can assure you that her novels are way, way better than TV drama though. I do think you really have to know Chinese to appreciate her writing, as she had adopted a lot from classical Chinese.
