Can you please help translate 孟哲 and 猛哲？

Hi,

With regards to using the first name of Meng Zhe.. meaning fierce and wise for a male,

is there a difference between using 孟哲 and 猛哲?

Do they mean the same thing, and are both usable for a first name for a male?

I'm also considering the full chinese name of 安 猛哲。

I saw that a famous chinese star uses MENG ZHE as well for a first name, but he uses the character 孟 instead of 猛. What's the difference?

勇哲 or 武哲 is much better than 孟哲 or 猛哲 as a name meaning 智勇双全。

孟 is a surname, I suppose you could also use it in a given name. 猛 seems not very suitable for a given name, it has a rather negative meaning.

孟 has a meaning almost equal to 猛，but more negative as in 孟浪.

Sometimes 猛 is used with the implication of "brave without brain". That's why we should avoid it in name.

孟 usually use for surname such as 孟子. It also has one meaning like " first", e.g.: first season of one year, first children in a family and another meaning like " speek heedlessly", e.g.: 孟浪.

I also think 安勇哲 or 安武哲 are better than 孟哲, and 孟哲 is better than 猛哲.
