Looking for relative

Hey , anyone...

I'm new here.

I'm in indonesia now, my grandparents are from China. They said they come from Deng Gao ( Theo Chew/ Chau Zou dialect). I just wonder where it is.. Any informations?

Do you have a Chinese font? Wade-Giles (or is the Post Office system, either way it sucks) is such a horrible transliteration system.

Thanx nnt ! Now I know chaozhou (潮州) is in Guang Dong (广东) :)

But what do we call 'Deng Gao' in Mandarin? Coz "Deng Gao" is TeoChew spoken.

And Where is it??

DIOJIU (also known as "Teochiu", "Teochew", "Chaozhou" and "Chiuchao"), is a Chinese dialect spoken in southeastern Guangdong province as well in a diaspora that spans the world over.

Although located in Guangdong province the dialect belongs to the Minnan language.
