beirne Posted June 10, 2004 at 12:20 AM Report Share Posted June 10, 2004 at 12:20 AM I really like Wenlin but spend most of my time in Linux. Wenlin doesn't run natively in Linux but I have had some good results running it under Wine. I have found, though, that with recent versions of Wine and Wenlin there are too many problems for it to be useful for me. In the last few weeks, though, CodeWeavers put out CrossoverOver Office 3.0, which works fairly will with Wenlin. COO is based on Wine but is more stable and is easier to work with. Also, nearly everything in Wenlin works under COO. The only major problem I know of is that the list of transformations doesn't show up properly. I was happy enough with Crossover Office 3.0 that I bought it. I then entered Wenlin 3.1.8 on its compatibility list. I also was assigned as an advocate for it. If you are interested in running under Linux check out the compatibility list for more information. If you are motivated enough you can vote for it so that it gets more attention from CodeWeavers. There is also a discussion forum for Wenlin on Linux if you wish to share your results or questions.
burny Posted August 15, 2009 at 09:40 PM Report Share Posted August 15, 2009 at 09:40 PM Hi, I encountered a problem with writing chinese characters in Wenlin, while I am running Linux 8.10 (Interpid Ibex). The problem is, that when I am trying to write chinese characters in Wenlin window, single character is not shown. But it is possible to write it in notepad or any other wordprocessor. I tried to run Wenlin on Wine and also on Cross:roll:ver, but it is the same. I dont know how to solve it. Can anybody help me? Thanx
