ABCinChina Posted June 30, 2008 at 06:57 AM Report Posted June 30, 2008 at 06:57 AM I'm not quite sure if China has the technology to do this sort of thing. Suppose a woman has had a bad pregnancy and had to get one fallopian tube removed. (not sure of the medical term) Later on in life, she found out that her other fallopian tube had become inoperable but still wanted to have a baby. Does she have any hope? If so, what is the Chinese medical term for the procedure and where are the most successful centers? Quote
BrandeX Posted June 30, 2008 at 12:40 PM Report Posted June 30, 2008 at 12:40 PM My wife just said she has never heard of such a thing, not that she is an expert of course. Personally China is into stopping births rather than helping them, but that also doesn't necessarily mean they don't have some type of in vitro services available either. Quote
skylee Posted June 30, 2008 at 02:56 PM Report Posted June 30, 2008 at 02:56 PM I remember one of my co-workers in my old office had great problems getting pregnant. She tried and tried and from what I heard she used 人工受孕 service. It is not uncommon in Hong Kong. The HK Sanitorium and Hospital, for example, provides such services. Take a look at its website, which is in Chinese and English -> Chinese -> http://www.hksh.com/chi/services/sms/dwh/rhc.htm English -> http://www.hksh.com/eng/services/sms/dwh/rhc.htm University of Hong Kong, whose teaching hospital is Queen Mary Hospital, also provides such services. Its bilingual website -> http://www.hku.hk/obsgyn/IVF/html/ Quote
ABCinChina Posted July 1, 2008 at 05:30 AM Author Report Posted July 1, 2008 at 05:30 AM Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into this place. I'm quite happy China has this sort of thing and I'll pass the info along. Only thing is that it's quite far, but hopefully their technology is up to par or even comparable with the West. Quote
