BrandeX Posted July 3, 2008 at 02:05 AM Report Posted July 3, 2008 at 02:05 AM At some point I ended up without the large size font files installed on my Palm anymore for PlecoDict. I have Vista, so I have to install everything manually by copying it to/from my SD card. Currently I have the main Pleco files on the internal RAM, and the dictionaries on the SD card, and everything else works great. However I just have the standard default font which is a bit small sometimes. I can't figure out a place to stick the font file (i.e. font24.pdb) to make it load into Pleco and be usable, I've tried the SD "Programs/Launcher" folder (where my dicts are), the SD "Programs/PlecoDict" folder (which is empty normally), and the main RAM folder (where the program executable is) on the internal memory. What folder should it be in? Thanks! Quote
stephanhodges Posted July 3, 2008 at 07:04 AM Report Posted July 3, 2008 at 07:04 AM Pleco has a forum for this too, where you might find the answer already. http://www.plecoforums.com/ When you say you have to manually copy files because you're using Vista, I assume you've run into the problem of getting Palm Desktop to install on Vista? There's a newer version that does install on Vista, although the web site (last I checked) doesn't say it will. There are some forum posts from the same support group that says it will... I've installed it on my version of Vista Ultimate. I don't recall the steps, but seems like I had to do one step manually to get it to use administrator privileges for the installation. Quote
ipsi() Posted July 3, 2008 at 07:11 AM Report Posted July 3, 2008 at 07:11 AM It should be in either /PALM/Launcher or RAM. Check to make sure there aren't any other font files in RAM. Also, I don't believe there's a font24.pdb. I only see 22, 28 and 48 on my 680, unless yours needs the low-res fonts? So yeah, to be on the safe side, you should probably make sure you have your font files in one place (probably /PALM/Launcher on the SD Card), and if you have a high-res (320x320 or better, I think) PDA, then you should have font22.pdb, font28.pdb and font48.pdb.
