muyongshi Posted July 13, 2008 at 03:52 PM Report Posted July 13, 2008 at 03:52 PM Continuing from this thread QQ has finally released a very long over due and very incomplete beta version of QQ for intel and power pc macs I downloaded it and was up in running no time. It at this time has no editable preferences and for all intensive purposes resembles closely enough the windows version however it was done in a very typical mac style of window. Right now the amount of features are very limited (can't send pictures, some of the similies don't come through, can't add your own similies, etc). All the default tenecent smilies are there and can be used. The fonts also follow the mac defaults even in the chat windows. Some things like icons look nice but are very limited as well. As long as the keep it in development it could go places! Also quick side note: apparently they are working on fixing the problem of not being able to view the 空间‘s from the mac based browsers... chenpv Posted July 13, 2008 at 04:08 PM Report Posted July 13, 2008 at 04:08 PM I have been using it for quite a while and like this clean-cut version. No more constant pop-up windows is a big big plus. I suspect that they are holding offline informations for Mac-version users on a different server, in that unlike under windows, if you were offline for too long, some old messages might be automatically deleted. muyongshi Posted July 14, 2008 at 12:40 AM Author Report Posted July 14, 2008 at 12:40 AM My biggest thing is that i wish the group chat windows (群) wouldn't automatically pop-out, that I could see the 自定表情 (I love those and for that reason won't frequently use this version-stick to the emulator for windows for now) and one thing I just find odd is that they haven't linked to keychain yet so that they could store your password and automatically log in.... Also I do hope that they will figure out the compatibility issues so that like the 头像 of others with be visible. Quote
muyongshi Posted July 15, 2008 at 05:52 AM Author Report Posted July 15, 2008 at 05:52 AM It seems the build has a problem with adding and accepting friend requests as well... Quote
