badr Posted July 16, 2008 at 04:44 AM Report Posted July 16, 2008 at 04:44 AM Indeed, they are closed for now but a relaunch is imminent. There is nothing quite like it in Beijing as far as reliable source of information. It was getting a wee bit out of hand with flaming/personal vendettas/crap to the point where mods were spending too much time cleaning things up. As Roddy said, the current business circumstances probably had something to do with it and Admin is doing what needs to be done to keep things going. Quote
flameproof Posted July 16, 2008 at 08:56 AM Author Report Posted July 16, 2008 at 08:56 AM That forum was really sometimes a bit like a troll park. The first reply to a question was usually "wow, your English really sux". But the visa section was quite good, and that's what I miss as a source of good and fast information. Quote
smh254 Posted July 16, 2008 at 07:38 PM Report Posted July 16, 2008 at 07:38 PM the forum software at Beijingers SUCKED. terrible user interface. i hope that they install a better system Quote
cdn_in_bj Posted July 17, 2008 at 05:24 AM Report Posted July 17, 2008 at 05:24 AM Not just that, but there will also be a freeze on getting broadband/phone lines installed lasting until around the 25th of August so as to ensure network stability during the Olympics. As if offering free wi-fi access within the 4th ring road won't have any effect on the network load. Quote
imron Posted July 17, 2008 at 06:05 AM Report Posted July 17, 2008 at 06:05 AM Well, it's not the first (or the last) harebrained policy to come about because of the Olympics. Quote
