alternate to my teacher's pick for my chinese name?

Hi,

I've studied chinese for a bit and think it's about time to pick a chinese name. My teacher suggested 马 瑞 安. I know this is a good auspicious name, but I'm not sold on the sound or maybe it's the resemblance to the english name Marianne. I'm hoping someone can suggest an alternative.

I'm fine with 马 as my family name since my last name starts with ma and it seems to be a typical appropriate chinese familiy name. I'm even like the meaning of the characters 瑞 and 安 individually; I just don't like the sound of them together.

瑞 安 was chosen to resemble my english name, Rebecca, but I don't really care if my chinese name matches in sound. The most important thing to me is having a name that makes sense and won't get me laughed at when I study in China, has a meaning I can live up to, and of course has a good sound.

I tend to like names with references to nature. An old classmate had a name with the character 岚, which I liked. If someone could suggest an alternative or two I'd really appreciate it. I know picking a chinese name is really an art, hopefully I'll gain the skill somewhere down the road...

瑞安 reminds me of the 武侠 story writer who is called 温瑞安 (a male). Hehe.:)

If so, how about 月岚, which means mist under the moon clothed hills.

Cheers!
