实验 and 试验 both mean 'experiment', so what is the difference, if any?

The word“实验”and“试验”are synonym.

They all include "验", means check up. The difference is "实" and "试".

"实验" emphasize particularly on science and theory, do action to make sure these theory.

"试验" emphasize particularly on checking something result or capability.
