wandapanda Posted July 23, 2008 at 09:27 AM Report Posted July 23, 2008 at 09:27 AM Hi! Do you guys think it'll be difficult to find an apartment this September? My friends are panicking with the thought of running out of a good apartment in Hua Qing Jia Yuan by the time we get there (we're planning to share). But personally I kind of suspect that prices will lower a bit after the Olympics, though the thought of the Olympics so close by (even when it's finishing up by then) plus new students coming in makes me wonder (and panic a bit as well) What do you think? (Especially those of you in Beijing right now) Quote
roddy Posted July 23, 2008 at 09:48 AM Report Posted July 23, 2008 at 09:48 AM (edited) At a guess, in September the Olympics aren't going to be very important, if at all - but the sheer number of foreign students running around Wudaokou are likely to inspire a bit of price gouging, and Huaqing Jiayuan is perhaps already overpriced due to all the students who are determined to live there as it's the only place they've heard of. See here for some alternatives and advice. Edit: Then again, reports of falling student numbers might mean that there won't be so much pressure on Wudaokou apartments and prices might be more reasonable? xuechengfeng Posted July 23, 2008 at 06:51 PM Report Posted July 23, 2008 at 06:51 PM I don't know if this helps, but a friend of mine is renting out a 2 bedroom apartment near Dawang Lu for 3,000 RMB a month Quote
roddy Posted July 24, 2008 at 09:14 AM Report Posted July 24, 2008 at 09:14 AM Dawang Lu is a long way from the universities in Wudaokou - unlikely to be of interest to anyone currently looking at Huaqing Jiayuan. Quote
