不停 and 不已 for both negative and positive?

Do 不停 and 不已 have the exact same meaning, and if so is不停 mainly used underlining the negative aspect of doing something continuously whereas不已 might be also used in positive contexts, such as praising someone non-stop.

Any comments on this would be appreciated.

不停 and 不已

Firstly, they are all configuration of “不”, this is negative adv.

“不” + adj/verb, for example:

不+adj: 不大、不小

不+verb: 不来、不去、不停、不已

The meaning of不停 and 不已 is “continue”, their differece is 不停 can use in the middle of sentence with 地or use in the end of sentence behind 个and 不已 is only used in the end of sentence behind verb.

For example:

不停地 问题。(he asked questions ceaselessly)

Subject adverbial modifier predicate objective

不停。(he speak ceaselessly)

S P empty word adv. As complement

赞叹 不已 (praise ceaselessly)

Verb adv As complement

兴奋 不已 (exciting)

Verb adv As complement

Hope this explain can help you…
