yueni Posted August 5, 2008 at 11:09 PM Author Report Posted August 5, 2008 at 11:09 PM Ariane, The dorm assignment is in the footnotes of your admission letter in size 6 font. I missed it myself and only saw it on the third read through. I also only got two sheets of paper: visa application and admission form, so I think that's all BLCU sends. I have a map of the campus as well from a separate application I had made that I can scan and upload or something, if you want as well. mengaimei, Remember to bring money or a cheque to pay for the visa fee! --; I'm driving 10 hours myself to get that visa. Ariane Posted August 6, 2008 at 01:42 AM Report Posted August 6, 2008 at 01:42 AM Aha, you're right. Thanks! Hopefully we'll be able to upgrade rooms, I keep hearing horror stories of all the dorms but 17 and 6, really. I have a very fuzzy map of blcu, so hopefully I'll be okay with that. Quote

wl239 Posted August 7, 2008 at 12:30 PM Report Posted August 7, 2008 at 12:30 PM I've been away from the forum since going through the whole application process - sorry for the belated post! In any case, I have also been lucky enough to get a CSC scholarship to fund a master's degree at Tsinghua. What I'm wondering is - does the CSC scholarship include a dorm room on campus in addition to the living stipend, or are we responsible for using the living stipend to arrange for our own housing? The materials I got in the mail were very brief, and I wasn't sure how to read them on this point. Thanks in advance! Quote
mocloud Posted August 8, 2008 at 06:15 PM Report Posted August 8, 2008 at 06:15 PM Wl, if you got a full scholarship, I think it includes dorm. Anybody got into Donghua U? I have problems to get there on the registration day. Anybody know who I shd contact for that? I tried the email for ICES office- no reply so far! Thanks! Quote
toehk Posted August 11, 2008 at 07:43 PM Report Posted August 11, 2008 at 07:43 PM (edited) Hi all, I have a similar question as mocloud: Does anyone know about arriving after the registration deadline? Is it possible to arrange that with universities? I got my scholarship papers today and I have to be in Huazhong Normal University (in Wuhan) already on Sept 2. Three weeks to quit my job, get the plane tickets and visa, move out from the apartment and say goodbye to a lot of people. Just wanted to ask this question here before I'll start the slooow communication process with the university. Thanks in advance for any info you might have. Update: Decided to speed up the preparation process and arrive in Wuhan on time. But still, if anyone knows anything about the possibilities to postpone the registation deadline, please post here. There might be someone out there who needs this information :-) Edited August 13, 2008 at 03:15 PM by toehk Quote
