Luobot Posted July 31, 2008 at 05:23 AM Report Posted July 31, 2008 at 05:23 AM The ZDT 0.8.0 beta is mostly very stable, except now and then something comes up, which may, in some cases, be a carryover from previous versions, but I'm focusing on the 0.8.0 beta here. Annotator: It appears that characters containing " ü " in the pinyin don't annotate correctly. However, the Dictionary translation for the same character is correct. For example, the annotator annotates 女朋友 as "peng2 you5 友" The dictionary, however, has it as "nu:3 peng2 you5" 绿岛乡annotates as "dao3 xiang1 乡" The dictionary has it as "Lu:4 dao3 xiang1" Quote
Luobot Posted August 18, 2008 at 02:15 AM Author Report Posted August 18, 2008 at 02:15 AM Character search problem in the dictionary: The following has been in CEDICT going way back: 千 千 [qian1] /thousand/ Doing a dictionary seacrch for 千 in ZDT only shows the other definition: 千 qian1 a swing ps - I'm using the newer ZDT dictionary plugin that comes with the older version of ZDT, rather than the older dictionary plugin which comes with the 0.8.0 beta. (Suggest packaging future beta releases with the newer dictionary plugin. ) Quote
Luobot Posted September 2, 2008 at 01:36 AM Author Report Posted September 2, 2008 at 01:36 AM I was looking up the characters for "frog" in the ZDT dictionary view and entered "ging1wa1" by mistake (instead of "qing1wa1"). There is no valid word spelled "ging1wa1" (at least, not in CEDICT), but I nevertheless received the following 7 results: 哇 wa1 sound of child's crying 挖 wa1 to dig; to excavate; to scoop out 溛 wa1 to form hollow; pit 穵 wa1 dig; scoop out 窊 wa1 lowland swamp 洼 wa1 depression; sunken; swamp 蛙 wa1 frog Quote
